Acclaimed jazz pianist Lynne Arriale, called “one of the most exciting pianists in contemporary jazz,” (The Guardian, UK) presents a solo concert among the beautiful artwork of the Polk Museum of Art in a concert that is sure to be amazing!

At this presentation, we will have the opportunity to see samples of Linda’s work as a composer, and hear about her professional and creative journey. Our village is preparing for a royal parade with decorations and music- until we find out that the queen wants the event to have no music at all! The townspeople must work together to save the parade and prove the value of music! This interactive theatre event invites children into the story to help solve a problem and experiment with all the ways we can make music!

This year's festival opens with the wonderful Jihye Chang, who will be sharing a concert of music new and old for piano! She will also be giving the world premiere of a new work by composer Erica Porter, commissioned by the Swan City Piano Festival.

We’re so excited to be partnering with local bookstore Pressed LKLD for this exciting event for the youngest members of our community! Created by theatre educator Claire Fleitz and local musician Derik Thomas, children and their caretakers will explore the wonderful world of music through sight, sound, and movement in this interactive play experience. Each session begins with a short story time of the story, The Bear and the Piano by David Litchfield.
