Festival Co-Founder Robert Fleitz presents Illuminations - Swan City Piano Festival’s first online event!
Illuminations is a program of seemingly disparate works that, when brought together, reveal a wide spectrum of emotional ideas and resonances. The composers on the program challenge the limits of the piano to work through grief, identity, time, silence, and light; illuminating a series of unexpected revelations for the individual listener.
The program features works by Žibuoklė Martinaitytė, Angélica Negrón, Gundega Šmite, Wilson Leywantono, Yaz Lancaster, and Johannes Brahms. The concert also features the world premiere of a new work by Liliya Ugay, commissioned by the Swan City Piano Festival.
